Our purpose is to pursue and further the hobby of historical conflict simulation gaming.

Probably most of us in the club 'cut our teeth' rolling dice over Kamchatka in Parker Brothers version of a French game Risk! . Eventually we found the Avalon-Hill series of games: D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Midway, PanzerBlitz etc. When SPI fired-up we took on those titles, too: War in Europe, Wellington's Victory . Many other companies have since entered the market with distinctly varied success.
In general, we enjoy intense strategic struggles. Games where one has to make trade-offs, evaluate risks, employ tactics, and determine strategy in order to win. The emphasis is on military campaigns of the past, but railroad games appear regularly, as well as the odd Speed Circuit. Occasionally someone will bring in some miniature tanks or ships, but fantasy role-playing is specifically outlawed.
What Do We Play Now?
We play quite a variety of games. These include Wilderness War, The Killing Ground, Sword of Rome, Hannibal, PanzerGruppe Guderian and 1830, just to name a few.
When Do We Play?
We have a regular meeting the third Saturday of the month. Note that these do vary.
There is also almost always a monster game or two being played once a week at some member's house continuing over the course of a few months to a couple years involving anywhere from two to seven or more players. Usually some short scenario is played first and after we have irrevocably screwed that up we dive into the campaign game.
A club roster is published and members often set-up one-on-one contests at their convenience.
Newsletter
Called Lines of Communication , the club e-newsletter is published once a month and contains game reviews, After Action Reports, convention summaries, and anything else a memeber wants to contribute.
Dues
Full memberships are $25 ($US) and entitle the holder to attend the monthly meeting and receive the club newsletter. Corresponding memberships are $12 and include only the newsletter, though such members are welcome at club events as guests. The price differential is due to the cost of renting the monthly meeting hall. There is also a family rate, $40, for one newsletter being sent to one address with potentially multiple monthly meeting attendess.
